Management of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic
The Executive Secretary of the NUC wishes to notify the university community and the public that as part of efforts aimed at containing and preventing the spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) throughout the country, all universities are to close down for a period of one (1) month commencing from Monday 23rd March 2020.

Update on The Call for Proposals For The Africa Centres Of Excellence For Development Impact (ACE IMPACT) Project
Following the May, 2018 release of a pre-announcement letter to introduce the Africa Centres of Excellence for Development Impact (ACE Impact) Project, so that potential applicants could begin to develop their Proposals, the National Universities Commission (NUC) hereby calls for Proposals from all universities in Nigeria.
NUC welcomes more specialised Universities
The Executive Secretary,NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed has assured that the Commission would continue to encourage and support the establishment of specialised universities and programmes to further enrich the Nigerian University System (NUS), towards moving Nigeria to a knowledge-based economy.
