1. Practical Work conducted are limited to laboratories. Fieldwork are not been done.

2. 32.4% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D. degree.

3. Classroom equipment and furniture are not well-maintained.

4. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space as some senior lecturers share offices and not well furnished.

5. Sanitation around the library building area is poor and there is no access to people with physical challenges.

6. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and currency.

7. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the programme is structured to include fieldwork.

2. The University should encourage all staff to obtain Ph.D. degree.

3. Classroom equipment and furniture should be well maintained.

4. Standard (spacious) offices should be provided for the programme and dedicated toilet facilities for Senior Lecturers for the programme.

5. The poor sanitation of the library building areas should be improved and construction of ramps to make access easy for person with mobility challenges.

6. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

7. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.60%. It scored 27 (72.97%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
