*Inadequate funding for the programme (30,000) naira
monthly imprest
*There is no specialized laboratories in the areas of
crop science and animal science
*Only 17.9% of non-academic staff benefitted from the staff
development programme
*Equipment such as branded media computers, voice
activated recorders, plant disease diagnostic equipment and
insect taxonomic were not provided in the laboratories
*Block allocation of marks were noticed in few cases

 

Funding for the programme should be improved

*Specialized laboratories for Animal and Science should be
built to enhance training in Animal and Plant Science
*Staff development programme for non-academic staff
should be put in place
*Equipment such as branded media computers, voice
activated recorders, plant disease diagnostic equipment and
insect taxonomic should be provided in the laboratories
*Block allocation of marks should be discouraged

 

The total score for the programme is 90.16%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91.43%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1.7 (56.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
