A.        SUMMARY OF PANEL’S REPORT

DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. Inadequate number of ENG digital cameras in the television studio.
2. Old and outdated digital mixers are still been used in the radio and television studios.
3. Internal quality assurance exists but not effective at both the faculty and departmental level as no evidence of meetings was sighted.
4. 28.6% of the academic do not have Ph.D. degree.
5. 21.4% of the academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development programme.

 

1. Two or more ENG digital cameras should be procured for the television studio.
2. A digital mixer of 12 channels should be acquired for the radio and television studios respectively.
3. Internal quality assurance should be strengthened and exist at both the faculty and departmental level and records of meetings be documented.
4. All academic staff should be encouraged to have Ph.D degree.
5. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from the Staff Development programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 92.80%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
