REMEDIES

1. Internal quality assurance exists but not effective at both the faculty and departmental level as no evidence of meetings was sighted.
2. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space and number.
3. Students’ degree projects are not well supervised.
4. 28% of the academic staff have not benefited from staff development.
5. 14% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from staff development.

 

1. Internal quality assurance should be strengthened and exist at both the faculty and departmental level and records of meetings be documented.
2. Standard and adequately furnished academic staff offices should be provided for the programme.
3. Students’ projects supervision should be improved upon.
4. The University should ensure that all academic staff for the programme benefits from staff development programme.
5. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff for the programme benefits from staff development programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.60%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
