REMEDIES

1. The Staff Mix by Rank – 31.3:31.3:38 does not meet the NUC guidelines in any category.

2. The non-teaching staff are not adequate in number.

3. 50% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from the staff development programme.

4. The staff offices for Senior Lecturers and above are ill-equipped. There are no bookshelves, filing cabinets.

5. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The Staff Mix by Rank must be consistent with NUC guidelines in all three categories or deviates from NUC guidelines by virtue of high proportion (over 25%) of Professors in the programme.

2. The non-teaching staff should be increased in number.

3. All non-academic staff should be benefit from the staff development programme.

4. Staff offices for Senior Lecturers and above should be well-equipped with bookshelves, filing cabinets.

5. Funding should be adequate for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 86.40%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
