REMEDIES

1. Only 80% of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from Staff Development Programme in the past three years.

2. Laboratory equipment such as Signal Analyser, Digitizer and Cripping tools are not available in the hardware lab.

3. Furniture in the academic offices are of low standard and professorial cadre share toilet facilities.

4. Fire extinguishers and sand buckets are inadequate in number.

5. Physical library Books are inadequate in coverage.

6. The University library does not have library website.

7. Funding for the programme is inadequate

 

1. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

2. The University should provide all the relevant and standard equipment required in the hardware lab.

3. Standard and well furnished academic staff offices should be provided for the programme.

4. The University should provide more functional fire extinguishers and sand buckets for the programme.

5. The University should procure more current books for the programme.

6. The University should ensure that library website is established and available to students and staff in the programme.

7. The University should ensure that the programme is adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.71%. It scored 29 (87.88%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
