REMEDIES

1. Examination Malpractice and consequences are not
enshrined in the the Student’s Handbook.

2. 50% of Student did not demonstrate good
knowledge of soft and hard skills

3. The Staff mix by rank follows the NUC guideline in
only one category. That is Professor.

4. The Department do not have a qualified
Secretary for the programme

5. Laboratory equipment meet the BMAS
specification both in quantity and quality
however, there are no safety chart and running
water.

6. The classroom fans are faulty and chairs broken
chairs.

7. Office accommodation is small in space, some
offices are shared and is ill equipped.

8. Environment around the facilities are dirty.

9. Hotspot is available but only within the vicinity of
the library building

10. Research is available. However, collaborations is
not multidisciplinary

11. Funding of the programme is not adequate

 

1. The University should ensure that Examination
malpractice and consequences is enshrined in the
Student Handbook.

2. The University should improve on students soft
skills such as problem solving skills that is relevant
to the programme.

3. The University should strive to attain the Staff mix
by rank of 20:35:45 as contained in the BMAS

4. The University should employ a qualified
Secretary for the programme.

5. The university should ensure that safety chart and
running water are provided for the programme

6. The University should endeavour to maintain the
equipment and furniture in the classroom

7. Office accommodation is small in space, some
offices are shared and is ill equipped.

8. The University should endeavour to clean the
environment around the facilities.

9. Internet connectivity should cover all areas of
the campus to enable ease of access to e-
resources.

10. The University should ensure that
collaboration is multidisciplinary for the
programme

11. The programme should be adequately funded

 

The total score for the programme is 83.97%. It scored 33.28 (89.95%)  in Academic Matters, 30.25 (91.67%) in Staffing, 20.0 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 14.25 (79.17%) in Library. The programme scored 1.5 (50.00%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
