REMEDIES

1. Examination Malpractice and consequences are
not enshrined in the the Student’s Handbook.

2. The Practical work is of good quality but did not
adequately covered the curriculum

3. 50% of Student did not demonstrate good
knowledge of soft and hard skills

4. The Staff mix by rank follows the NUC guideline in
only one category. That is Lecturer I and below.

5. The Department do not have a qualified
Secretary for the programme.

6. Laboratory space for the programme is small in
size and meets 60% on space standard as
prescribed by BMAS

7. The classroom furniture is not well maintained.
The fans are faulty fans, broken chairs and
podium in the lecture room

8. Office accommodation is small in space, some
offices are shared and is ill equipped.

9. Internet connectivity to the e-library does not
cover areas of the Campus

10. Funding of the programme is not adequate

 

1. The University should ensure that Examination
malpractice and consequences is enshrined in the
Student Handbook.

2. The programme requires the application of
process skills like measurement and
interpretation for the programme

3. The University should include more of hard and
soft skills programme as part of lectures to
address the problem

4. The University should strive to attain the Staff
mix by rank of 20:35:45 as contained in the BMAS

5. The University should employ a qualified Secretary
for the programme.

6. The University should strive to meet the space
standard as specified by the BMAS

7. The University should endeavour to maintain the
equipment and furniture in the classroom

8. Office accommodation is small in space, some
offices are shared and is ill equipped.

9. Internet connectivity should cover all areas of
the campus to enable ease of access to e-
resources

10. Funding of the programme is not adequate

 

The total score for the programme is 85.69%. It scored 33.90 (91.62%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (90.91%) in Staffing, 20.5 (75.93%) in Physical Facilities, 14.50 (80.56%) in Library. The programme scored 1.75 (58.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1.75 (87.50%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
