DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. 10 out of the 15 students enrolled for the
Programme has student files.

2. Examination Malpractice and consequences are
not enshrined in the the Student’s Handbook.

3. 50% of Student did not demonstrate good
knowledge of soft and hard skills

4. The Department do not have a qualified
Secretary for the programme.

5. Some of the weighing balance and dissecting kits
in the Laboratory were not inscribed. No safety
Chart, the First Aid Box was empty and no running
water in the Laboratory.

6. The classroom is not well maintained. Some fans
are faulty and no Public address system

7. Office accommodation is small in size, some
offices are shared and is ill equipped.

8. Environment is safe but bushy around the
laboratory.

9. Internet connectivity to the e-library does not
cover areas of the Campus

10. Funding of the programme is not adequate

 

1. The University should ensure that all the students
have their files and it is well documented

2. The University should ensure that Examination
malpractice and consequences is enshrined in
the Student Handbook.

3. The University should align their teaching to
developing students ability in attaining both hard
and soft skills relevant to the programme

4. The University should employ a qualified
Secretary for the programme

5. The University should ensure that all the kits is
inscribed and functional tap are installed. First Aid
items and Safety Charts procured in the
Laboratory.

6. The University should repair the faulty fans and
purchase public address system to assist in
lecture delivery.

7. The University should provide bigger office space,
equip it with A/C and refrigerator for Professorial
cadre and decongest the sitting arrangements.

8. The University should constantly clear the bushes
around the Laboratory building.

9. Internet connectivity should cover all areas of the
campus to enable ease of access to e-resources.

10. The programme should be adequately funded

 

The total score for the programme is 85.47%. It scored 31.875 (86.15%)  in Academic Matters, 32.5 (98%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1.5 (50.00%) in Funding, 2.25 (75.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
