1. The curriculum of the programme is inadequate

2. Standard of test and examinations do not cover the curriculum

3. Marking schemes of the programme is not well developed.

5. The students interviewed showed that the course delivery is in adequate.

6. The staff mix by rank of 15.3:23:46 only meet in one category.

7. 9 out of 13 academic staff members have Ph.D.

8. Only 4 (31%) out 13 academic staff have benefited from staff development programme

9. The staff offices are inadequate in space

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum of the Programme is adequately covered.
2. University should ensure that the standard of test and examinations adequately cover the curriculum of the programme.
3. The university should ensure to adequately develop a good marking scheme for the programme.
4. University should ensure to develop a good degree project to contained abstract.
5. The university should ensure to provide adequate course delivery.
6. University should ensure to maintain NUC Guideline of 20: 35: 45
7. The university should ensure that all academic staff have PhD.
8. University should ensure that all academic staff benefited from staff development programme
9. The university should ensure to provide adequate and well-furnished office accommodation for academic staff.
10. University should ensure to adequately fund the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 81.60%. It scored 31 (83.78%)  in Academic Matters, 23 (65%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66%) in Funding, 2 (66%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
