DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. Inadequate number of digital television production cameras.
2. Old and outdated digital mixers are still been used in the radio and television studios.
3. Laboratory is inadequate in space and fairly equipped.
4. Little practical works in been done on Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD) and Photo journalism.
5. 25% of the academic do not have Ph.D. degree.
6. 17% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development programme.

 

1. More digital television production cameras should be procured.
2. Two (2) digital mixers of 12 channels should be acquired for the radio and television studios respectively.
3. The laboratory should be expanded to accommodate more students and adequately equipped with more computers and software’s for the programme.
4. More practical works in been done on Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD) and Photo Journalism as to cover the entire curriculum.
5. All academic staff should be encouraged to have Ph.D. degree.
6. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from the Staff Development programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.92%. It scored 28 (90.32%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
