REMEDIES

1. proportion of staff core to the subject area, is less than 75% as stated in guideline.
2. Non teaching staff are not adequate.
3. Less than 70% of the academic staff benefited from the staff development in the last three {3} years.
4. None of the non Teaching staff benefited from the staff development in the last three {3} years.
5. The laboratories equipment inspected did not meet 80% guideline.
6. The office space is slightly inadequate, and did not meet the National guideline.
7. books and journals are inadequate in numbers.
8. Texts and journals are not so current.
9. Funding is inadequate.

 

1. The university should provides 75% and more for the staff core to the subject.
2. The university to employ non teaching in the Department.
3. The university should make sure that academic staff are developed.
4. The university should make sure non teaching staff are developed as well,
5. the laboratories equipment quantity and quality did not meet the NUC guideline.
6. the university management should provides enough office space for the staff.
7. The University should provides enough books and journals for the program.
8. The university should ensure that Texts and journals are very current.
9. The University should improve funding of the Department.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.83%. It scored 32 (100.00%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
