DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. Some sampled Practical Work/Degree Projects are not from the
Educational Management.

2. Interaction between the panel members and students of the
programme reveals the students have not acquired the relevant
hard and soft skills expected of or prescribed for their levels.

3. The 50% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from Staff
Development Programme for past three years.

4. The classrooms and lecture theatres are inadequate in space; some
of the chairs, fan and light are not well maintained.

5. Fire extinguishers and sand buckets are inadequate in number.

6. There is no tracer system in place.

 

1. The University should ensure that practical/degree projects in line
with the NUC BMAS/CCMAS.

2. The University should ensure that the practical work conducted is of
good quality and covers depth and scope of the curriculum

3. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff have
benefit from Staff Development Programme

4. The Classrooms and lecture theatre(s) chairs should be well
maintained.

5. More fire extinguishers and sand buckets should be procured for
the programme.

6. The University should ensure that tracer system is in place.

 

The total score for the programme is 91.23%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97.14%) in Staffing, 13 (81.25%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (100.00%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
