1. Standards of Tests and Examination of the programme do not cover the curriculum.
2. Marking schemes for the programme are not well developed.

3. Student’s course evaluation for the programme is not yet commenced.

4. Students demonstrate average level of hard and soft skills relevant to the programme.
5. Only 58.8 of the teaching staff have a Ph.D.
6. Only 64.7 of the academic staff have benefitted from the staff development programme.
7. The Programme’s laboratory lacks some essential equipment.
8. Physical library holdings are inadequate in number and coverage.
9. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that standards of tests and examinations should cover the curriculum.
2. The University should ensure that marking schemes should be based on
the weight of the question and in whole numbers.
3. The University should ensure that student’s course evaluation has commenced across all the levels.
The University should ensure that students should demonstrate very good level of hard and soft skills relevant to the programme.
5. The University should ensure that all teaching staff have a Ph.D.
6. The University should ensure that all academic staff have benefitted from the staff development programme.

7. The University should ensure that equipment such as wood millage, saws, CBR machines, safety boxes, bench vices and alternative power supply are provided.
8. The University should ensure that physical library holdings and coverage are adequate.
9. The University should ensure that funding for the programme is adequate.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.82%. It scored 27 (81.82%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
