1.Staff mix by rank of 27.3:27.3:45.4 does not meet the NUC guidelines in one category.
2.Internal quality assurance exists only at the faculty level.
3.Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number.
4.Classrooms and lecture theatres are not well maintained and not equipped with interactive smart boards.
5.75% of the non academic staff have not benefited from staff development.
6. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1.The University should ensure a staff mix by rank that is consistent with NUC guidelines of 20:35:45.
2.Internal quality assurance should exist also at the departmental level and records of meetings be documented.
3.More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.
4.The classrooms should be well maintained and equipped with interactive smart boards.
5.The University should ensure that all non academic staff for the programme benefits from staff development programme.
6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.00%. It scored 30 (81.08%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
