REMEDIES

1. The examination question marks to be earned
by students are not stated on the question
papers.

2. The marking schemes are not comprehensive.

3. Students projects are not better supervised.

4. Practical work of the programme did not cover
the curriculum.
5. The Staff Mix by Rank is consistent with NUC
guidelines in only one category.

6. The Number of technologists staff for the
programme is inadequate
7. 35% of academic staff have not benefitted from
Staff Development Programme.
8. The programme lacks TV cameras and Midjets.

9. There are no public address systems in the large
lecture halls.
10. There is no multidisciplinary approach to
research.

 

1. The University should ensure that examinations
question marks should be stated on the
question papers.

2. Efforts should be made to make marking
schemes very comprehensive for fair grading.

3. There should be better supervision of students
projects to ensure better quality of the works.
4. The University should ensure that practical
works conducted covers the curriculum
especially in public relations and advertising.
5. The University should ensure Staff Mix by Rank
of 20:35:45.
6. The University should consider employing more
technologists for the programme.
7. The University should ensure that all academic
staff benefit from the Staff Development
Porgramme.
8. The programme should procure more TV
cameras and midjets for students use.
9. The University should ensure that public
address systems are provided for the
programme.
10. The University should ensure that there is
multidisciplinary approach to research.

 

The total score for the programme is 82.40%. It scored 32 (86.5%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (86%) in Staffing, 20 (74%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (67%) in Funding, 2 (67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. the Panel recommended  accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  accreditation status for the Programme
