1. The staffing is top-heavy as there is no lecturer 1 and below in the programme

2. The staff/student ratio is not in consonance with the NUC recommended 1:15

3. True/false format of marking needs to be changed

4. The university employs negative marking, which overwhelms the students

5. There was no 100 level file in the Department

 

1. There is an urgent need to employ more staff to facilitate mentoring and balanced teaching

2. The Student/lecturers ration of 1:21 falls short of the BMAS/CCMAS recommendation

3. The correct option of 4options and 1 correct answer should be deployed

4. Subjective kind of marking needs to be deployed.

5. 100 level students files need to be in the department to ascertain ownership

 

The total score for the programme is 94.40%. It scored 34 (92%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 27 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
