REMEDIES

1. The staff mix by rank of 23:32:45 is consistent with NUC guidelines in only one category.
2. Only 64.5% of academic staff on the programme are PhD holders.

3. Only 64.7% of non-teaching staff have benefitted from staff development.

4. Equipment and furniture in the classrooms lack maintenance and the whiteboards are dirty and black.
5. There is no provision of ramps for physically challenged persons in the University buildings.

 

1. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 for the programme.

2. The University should ensure that all academic staff are PhD holders.

3. The University should ensure at least 70.0% of non-teaching staff benefit from staff development.
4. The University should ensure that equipment and furniture in classrooms are well maintained.
5. The University should provide ramps for physically challenged persons in the buildings.

 

The total score for the programme is 93.39%. It scored 33 (100.00%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (86%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (100.00%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
