REMEDIES

1. Tests and Examination questions are not qualitative and not of
good standard.

2. Staff mix by rank is not consistent with the NUC guidelines in all
the three parameters with deficits at the level of Senior Lecturer
and lecturer I and below.

3. 55.6% of the Academic staff have not benefitted from the Staff
Development Programme of the university.

4. None of the Non-Teaching staff have benefitted from the staff
Development programme of the university.

5. Most of the physical holdings of Books and journals are not
current.

6. No documented evidence on any educational project/research
created to serve the host community by the Research and
collaboration system of the programme.

7. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The academic staff should be able to develop good standard
and qualitative questions for Tests and Examinations.

2. The university should ensure that the Staff mix by rank is
consistent with the NUC guidelines of 20:35:45.

3. All Academic staff should benefit from the Staff Development
Programme of the University.

4. The university should ensure that all Non- Teaching staff
benefits from the staff Development Programme.

5. The university should provide more current Text Books and
Journals for the programme.

6. The Department should create at least one (1)
educational/research that will serve the host community and
be well documented for the programme.

7. The university should ensure that funding is very adequate for
the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.44%. It scored 24 (92.31%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77.14%) in Staffing, 16 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
