REMEDIES

1. Some courses need adjustments, e.g., digital electronics 1&2, introduction of courses in biophysics, and astronomy/astrophysics.
2. The university needs to improve on library holdings to cover areas of physics and international journals.
3. Funding is inadequate

 

1. the curriculum, mostly CCMAS should be reviewed to include all omitted courses.
2. the university needs to procure more books to cover physics and international journals.
3. the programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 78.00%. It scored 27.5 (74.3%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (89%) in Staffing, 19 (70.4%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.8%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
