1. The following courses units were reduced contrary to CCMAS stipulations: Cadastral surveying, Field Astronomy, Electronic survey, Mining/ Special Survey.
2. Some lecturers did not provide marking scheme for the exam.
3. Less than 70% of academic staff benefited from staff development program.
4. Less than 70% of academic staff benefited from staff development program.
5. The program lack equipment on hydraulic survey such as echo- sounders and boat
6. Inadequate funding

 

1. Cadastral surveying, Field Astronomy, Electronic survey, Mining/ Special Survey program units should be regularized to meet the CCMAS stipulations.
2. All lecturers taking the course should provide their marking scheme for the program
3. Academic staff development for teaching staff should be improved
4. Non-Academic staff development for teaching staff should be improved
5. echo- sounders and boat equipment should be provided for the program
6. More funds should be allocated for the program

 

The total score for the programme is 84.40%. It scored 34.5 (93.24%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.29%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
