REMEDIES

1.The examination questions did not coverage curriculum in Management Accounting.
2.There is evidence of blocking marking in the student scripts.
3.The student demonstrated good level of soft skills relevant to programme.
4.There is evidence that internal quality assurance exit but not effective.
5.Only 60% of the teaching staff are core to the subject area.
6.50% of the academic staff have not benefited from staff development in the last three years.
7.There are broken seats in one of the class rooms, no public address system in the lecture theatre.
8.The fire extinguish in the teaching facilities have expired.
9.The recommended texts are journal are not very current.
10.There is only one active data base subscription and open sources materials.
11.There is not evidence of international collaboration.

 

1.he university should ensure that all examinations cover the curriculum.
2.Marks should be allocated to each section of the answers to the questions.
3.The students should have both shard and sort skill relevant to the programme.
4.The university should ensure regular meets of Internal Quality Assurance team with minutes of meeting documented.
5.The university should ensure that at least 80% of the teaching staff are core to the subject area.
6.The university should create staff development for all staff of the pragramme.
7. The university should ensure proper maintenance of the facilities in the classrooms.
8.The university should comply with government laws relating to safety.
9.Current Recommended text and journals should be procured for the programme.
10.The university should superscribe to at 2 relevant database in addition to open sources materials.
11.The university should encourage international collaboration in research and training programmes.

 

The total score for the programme is 81%. It scored 32 (85%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (81%) in Staffing, 27 (83.3%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (72%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (66.7%) in Funding, 3 (66.7%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
