Only one innovative course has been included in the curriculum (GST 201(Communication in French) 2. Coverage of the curriculum is inadequately as some core topics were omitted from core courses, i.e Communication principles (EEE401) does not cover Basic Antenna Theory, Error detection &Correction in pulse modulation as well as differentials PCM (DPCM) 3. Practical work conducted lacks depth and does not adequately cover the curriculum, there was no evidence of comprehensive data analysis and interpretation 4. Basic laboratory equipment such as signal/function generators, spectrum analyser, analog/digital converters, modern microprocessor kit were lacking. In addition, oscilloscopes are inadequate in number for the programme 6. The programme has no studio for engineering drawing 7. Classroom furniture is not well maintained, and some whiteboards were not properly mounted 8. Academic staff offices are not well furnished with file cabinets and bookshelves 9. Core textbooks such as MATLAB, Data Communications, Computer Architecture, Computer Logic are required in the physical Library 10. Funding for the programme is inadequate 11. Research Collaboration is not multidisciplinary in approach

1. The University should ensure that more innovative courses are included in the curriculum to enrich the programme 2. The University should ensure that the curriculum adequately covers all topics needed for the programme. 3. The total score for the programme is 71.85%. It scored 23.5 (71.21%) in Academic Matters, 31 (89%) in Staffing, 15 (55.56%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
B. APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION
