1. Staff mix by rank of 21:26:53 do not meet the NUC guidelines in one category.
2. 50% of the academic staff do not have the Ph.D degree.
3. 53% of the academic staff have not benefited from staff development.
4. 33% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from staff development.
5. The programme research and collaboration are not multi-disciplinary in approach to research.

 

1. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank that is consistent with NUC guidelines of 20:35:45
2. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain the Ph.D degree.
3. The University should ensure that all academic staff for the programme benefits from staff development programme.
4. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff for the programme benefits from staff development programme.
5. The University should ensure that its research and collaboration for the programme is multidisciplinary in approach to research.

 

The total score for the programme is 86.67%. It scored 31 (96.88%)  in Academic Matters, 25 (71%) in Staffing, 27 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
