1. Block marking of exam scripts in the following courses: CLA 201 Reading for academic purpose, CLA 307 News editing for print media, CLA 406 Applied communication and language art. 2. The scope of practical work doesn’t cover the curriculum, there are no practical work in creative writing and newspaper production. 3. External examiners report is not comprehensive. 4. Departmental internal quality assurance system exists but not functional. 5. Equipment like the Television set is outdated. 6. Some classroom chairs are broken. 7. There are no toilet facilities in the Professorial Offices. 8. Library books are inadequate in number. 9. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

1. Block marking should be discouraged and unit marking should be adopted. 2. The university should ensure that practical works cover all aspects of the curriculum. 3. The university should ensure that external examiners report is detailed and of good standard. 4. The university should ensure a functional departmental quality assurance system. 5. The University should ensure provision of modern Television set for the programme. 6. The university should ensure that classroom furniture is well maintained. 7. Toilet facilities should be provided for all Professorial offices. 8. More copies of books should be procured for the programme. 9. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 92.80%. It scored 33.5 (90.54%) in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 24.5 (90.74%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
