1. Examination questions did not cover the curriculum in ACC404 (Financial Management) and ACC402(Management Accounting). 2. Internal Quality Assurance System does not exist at the departmental level. 3. The department is headed by a lecturer 1 4. 35.9% of the teaching staff are not core to the programme. 5. 67% and 75% of teaching and non-teaching staff have not benefitted from staff development programme in the last three years. 6. Some furniture in the staff offices are not in good condition. 7. White boards in some classrooms are old and small. There is no public address system in the large classrooms. 8. There is no subscription to paid databases in the e-library. 9. Funding for the programme is inadequate

1. The university should ensure adequate coverage of curriculum while setting examination questions. 2. The university should ensure that an effective Quality Assurance System is instituted at the departmental level. 3. The university should ensure that a qualified academic staff not below the rank of a senior lecturer is appointed to head the department. 4. The university should ensure that at least 75% of the teaching staff are core to the programme. 5. The university should ensure that all teaching and non-teaching staff benefit from staff development programme. 6. Furniture in all staff offices should be upgraded. 7. Big white boards and public address system should be provided in the classrooms. 8. The university should subscribe to at least two databases for the e-library. 9. More funds should be provided for the programme

The total score for the programme is 80.00%. It scored 29 (90.63%) in Academic Matters, 23 (66%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
