1. The university should ensure the curriculum is fully covered at all times.

2. The university should add more innovative courses as only Public Health Nutrition was seen.

3. The university should conduct more practicals such as electrotherapy, exercise therapy and clinical physiotherapy.

4. The university should ensure more learning materials and physical facilties are available.

5. The university should ensure students acquire more hard and soft skills relevant to the programme.

6. The University should ensure functional Internal Quality Assurance Unit with regards to minutes of meetings and decision making documents.

7. The university should engage more lecturers on permanent appointment as most professors are on part time basis.

8. The university should engage more core academic staff relevant to the programme.

9. The university should ensure the department is run by a qualified HOD who is a senior lecturer or professor.

10. The university should engage a technologist in the core area of Physiotherapy.

11. The University should encourage all academic and non-academic staff to take advantage of its staff development programme.

12. The University should increase the size of the laboratory so as to accommodate more students and acquire additional equipment such multi-gym suspension unit and ultrasound machine.

13. The university should properly equip all offices especially the HOD and that of professors as they lack conveniences.

14. The university should ensure additional copies of current books are provided in the library.

15. The University should allocate more funds to the programme.

16. The university should ensure that Research and Collaboration exists among academic staff from other universities.

 

The total score for the programme is 60.98%. It scored 24 (68.57%)  in Academic Matters, 17 (49%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
