REMEDIES

1. The Curriculum is not adequate as some core courses were omitted.
2. The staff mix by rank of 22.2:44.4:33.3 meets the BMAS requirement in one category.
3. 33% of teaching staff do not have Ph.D degree.
4. Only 40% of non-teaching staff benefited from staff development.

 

1. The University should ensure that the omitted core courses are included.
2. The University should ensure that staff mix by rank meets all categories.
3. All academic staff be encourage to obtain Ph.D degree.
4. All non-teaching staff should benefit from staff development.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.80%. It scored 34.5 (93.24%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (86%) in Staffing, 26 (96.30%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
