1. The proportion of staff core the subject is less than 60% in the programme
2. The staff mix by rank of 50:25:25: did not meet the NUC approved guideline in the two categories
3. Non-teaching staff are not adequate in number for the programme
4. None of the academic staff has benefitted from staff development programme
5.Library books and journals are not adequate and current
6. E- Library are inadequate in internet for the programme
7. funding for the programme is not adequate
8.There is no multidisciplinary approach to research

 

1. The University should ensure that provision of core staff to the subject area in the programme
2. The staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 should be ensured
3. The University should provide adequate number of Non-teaching staff for the programme
4. The university should ensure that al academic staff benefit from staff development programme
5. To ensure more current books and journals should be procured for the programme
6. The university should provide internet for facilities for the programme
7. funding for the programme should be furthermore improved
8. The University should ensure that there is multidisciplinary approach to research in the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 71.90%. It scored 28 (84.85%)  in Academic Matters, 24 (68.57%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 12 (66.67%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
