1. A student (Azeez Faruq Adebowale) did not meet the admission requirements of (5) o’level credits (Had D7 in Mathematics) for the programme.

2. The Course Content, Learning Materials, Course Delivery, Physical Facilities are fairly adequate for the programme.

3.The Staff Mix by Rank(27.3:45.4:27.3) for the programme is only consistent with NUC guidelines in two categories (Professors/Readers and Senior Lecturers).

4. 50% of the Non-teaching staff have benefitted from Staff Development Programme.

5. The Furniture in the dedicated Lecture Hall for the programme are not well maintained.

6. Office Accommodations are slightly inadequate in space and those for Professorial cadre are not ensuite.

7. The Library Holdings are current for recommended Texts.

8. The Funding is just adequate to keep the department running.

 

1. The University should ensure that all students enrolled for the programme meet the admission requirements.

2. The Department should ensure that the Course Contents, Learning Materials, Course Delivery, Physical Facilities are adequate for the programme.

3. The University should ensure the Staff Mix by Rank for the programme is consistent in all three categories by employing more Lecturer 1 and below for the programme.

4. The Department should ensure all Non-academic staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

5. The University should make provisions to refurbish the furniture in the dedicated Lecture Hall available for the programme.

6. The University should ensure Office Accommodation are adequate in space and ensuite for the Professorial cadre.

7. The University should procure very current recommended Texts for the programme.

8. The Department should be adequately funded by the University.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.78%. It scored 26 (92.86%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 12 (75.00%) in Physical Facilities, 17.5 (97.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
