REMEDIES

1. The staff mix ratio is 25:25:50, it is only consistent in professorial cadre which deviates from the provision of the BMAS of 20:35:45.

2. 14% of Academic staff benefited from Staff Development Programme.

3. 33% of Non-Academic Staff benefited from Staff Development Programme.

4. The classrooms are dilapidated with sagging ceilings, broken floor tiles and damaged roofs.

5. Fire extinguishers and Sand buckets are not sufficient in number at the classroom area.

6. Books for the programme are inadequate in number at the Library.

7. Funding is not adequate for the Programme.

 

1. The university should improve and conform with the provision of BMAS in staff mix for the programme.

2. The University should improve on Staff development for the academic staff.

3. Non academic staff of the programme should be engaged in staff development.

4. The University should renovates the classrooms at the department.

5. The University should procure more safety equipment.

6. The University should procure more textbooks for the programme at library.

7. Fund should be made available for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.49%. It scored 30 (93.75%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.28%) in Staffing, 13 (81.25%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
