1. Curriculum is not adequately covered
2. Degree project are not well supervised as there are discrepancies in the
format
3. Internal Quality Assurance is not functional at departmental and
faculty level
4. 47% of academic staff are not core to the subject area
5. 38% of academic staff, 100% of non-teaching staff does benefit from
staff development for the past three years
6. Laboratories are not adequate in space
7. Physical books in the library are not adequate in number
8. Funding to the programme is not adequate

 

1. The Department should ensure that, Curriculum should be
adequately covered lecturers
2. The Department should ensure that Degree project should adopt the
format of writing project
3. The University should ensure that, Internal Quality Assurance should
be functional at all level of academics in the University
4. The Department should ensure that more 70% of academic staff
should be core to the subject area
5. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from staff
development for the past three years
6. The University should ensure that Laboratories should be adequate
in space
7. The University should procure more books in the library
8. More fund should be provided to the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 80.00%. It scored 30 (81.08%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
