1. Less than 50% of Academic Staff have PhD degrees.

2. Less than 50% of Academic and Non-Academic Staff benefitted from staff development programs.

3. Some essential equipment were not provided for in the laboratories.

 

1. More Academic Staff should be encouraged to pursue Ph.D degrees.

2. More Academic and Non-Academic Staff should be encouraged to participate in staff development programs.

3. The university should provide laboratory equipment such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy and Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.93%. It scored 32 (96.97%)  in Academic Matters, 20 (60.61%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 17.5 (97.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
