1. Only 50% of the Core Staff have Ph.D degrees.

2. Less than 50% of both the Academic and Non-Academic staff benefitted from Staff Development programs.

3. Some essential laboratory equipment were not provided for in the laboratories.

 

1. More academic and non-academic staff should be encouraged to acquire Ph.D degrees.

2. More Academic and Non-Academic staff should be encouraged to benefit from Staff Development programs.

3. The University should provide some essential laboratory equipment, particularly the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy

 

The total score for the programme is 81.72%. It scored 31.75 (96.21%)  in Academic Matters, 20 (60.61%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 17.5 (97.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
