1. The Staff Mix by Rank is in the ratio 38.5:15.4:46.2

2. Teaching Practice not being supervised by External Examiners.

3. No new innovative courses in the curriculum.

4. Only 50% of the non-teaching staff have benefitted from the Staff Development Programme.

5. Paucity of funds

 

1. The University should ensure that the Staff Mix by Rank in the ratio 20:35:45 should be maintained.

2. The University should ensure that teaching practice by students are being supervised by External Examiners.

3. The University should ensure that innovative courses are included in the curriculum.

4. The University should ensure that all the non-teaching staff should benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

5. The University should ensure that funds are adequate for running the Social Studies education programme

 

The total score for the programme is 91.20%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
