REMEDIES

1. The curriculum is not fully adequate as some core courses were omitted. The courses are as follows:
a) GST 121 use of Library, study skills and ICT
b) GST 211 History and Philosophy of Science
c) GST 222 Peace and Conflict Resolution
d) EDU 413 Guidance and Counselling

2. External examiner exists but did not provide the reviews on the question papers, marking schemes and results.

3. Internal quality assurance exits but no evidence of meeting.

4.The programme scored 0. Only 1 out of 3 non-teaching staff benefited from the staff development programme for the past 3 years.

5. Research and collaborations available but no multidisciplinary approach applied.

 

1. The University should ensure the curriculum contains all the core/compulsory courses prescribed in the BMAS across all the levels of study.

2.The university should ensure External examiner provide the reviews on the questions papers, marking schemes and results.

3.The university should ensure that there should be minutes of meetings to show as evidence.

4. The university should improve on staff development programme for the non-teaching staff.
5. The University should improve on the research and Collaboration.

 

The total score for the programme is 82.35%. It scored 23 (74.19%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
