1. Making scheme of ECO 101 (Principles of Economics) is not consistent.
2. The Students demonstrated skills in entrepreneurship courses, none have soft skills in Economics
3. The Econometrics laboratory is not adequate in space, internet and lack power supply.
4. The classrooms/lecture are with NUC CCMAS standard but are shared with 6 programmes within the faculty.
5. There are broken chairs, window glasses and fan regulators in one of the classrooms.
6. The offices are not well equipped, the Professorial offices do not have in-suite convenience rooms.
7. There is only one active subscription to relevant database.
8. The programme is not adequately funded

 

1. The university should ensure that making scheme is consistent with all courses.
2. Students should have good level of hard and soft skills relevant to the programme.
3. The econometrics laboratory should be upgrade and internet and electricity should be provided.
4. There should be at least one dedicated classroom for the programme.
5. The university should ensure proper maintenance of classrooms and the facilities
6. Standard offices should be provided for all teaching staff.
7. The university should subscribe to at least 2 relevant active database in addition to open to open source materials.
8. The programme should be adequately funded

 

The total score for the programme is 81%. It scored 28 (89.3%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (91%) in Staffing, 27 (72%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (71%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (42%) in Funding, 3 (67%) in Research and Collaborations and 00 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
