1. The curriculum omitted core courses such as Soil Microbiology and Introduction to Food Science for the programme.

2. The curriculum contains two innovative courses.

3. 31.03% of the teaching staff has no Ph.D degree.

4. 60% of teaching staff have not benefitted from the Staff Development Programme in the last three years.

5. 100% of non-teaching staff have not benefitted from the Staff Development Programme in the last three years.

 

1. The University is to be ensure that all core courses should be included in the curriculum.

2. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

3. The University should ensure that all teaching staff obtains the Ph.D degree.

4. The University is encouraged to ensure that all teaching staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

5. The University is encouraged to ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from Staff Development Programme

 

The total score for the programme is 86.40%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
