1. The curriculum contains no innovative courses.

2. The proportion of staff core to the subject area provided for 50%.

3. 67% of the non-academic staff have not benefitted from staff development programs in the last five years, whether conferences, seminars, or training.

4. Books such as Experimental Design, Sampling Techniques, and Demography.

5. The physical journals are not current.

6. Funding for the program is inadequate.

 

1. The University should enrich the curriculum by adding at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The University should ensure that the proportion of academic staff core to the subject area provides for 75% or more of the teaching staff needs.

3. The University should ensure that all the non-academic staff benefit from the staff development programs.

4. The University should procure the following physical books:Experimental Design, Sampling Techniques, and Demography.

5. The University should procure recommended current journals especially local ones.

6. The University should ensure that the Programme is well-funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.30%. It scored 32 (91.43%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
