REMEDIES

1. some students enrolled in the programme did not meet the stipulated admission requirements.

2. marking exist but some course had no mark attached to the steps except block marks.

3. only 6 out of 17 academic staff benefitted from staff development programme.

4. office accommodation for professors and senior lecturer were adequate in number but inadequate in terms of space.

5. funding is inadequate.

 

1. the university was advised to adhere to the NUC guideline on admission requirements.

2. university was advised to split marks into steps for clarity and to avoid block marking.

3. the university was advised to organise workshops and seminars for staff of the programme as well as encourage them to go for local and foreign conferences.

4. the university was advised to provide a better office accommodation for professor and senior lecturer in the programme.

5. university to provide more funds for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.00%. It scored 32 (86%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74%) in Staffing, 22.8 (84%) in Physical Facilities, 14.4 (80%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33%) in Funding, 1.8 (60%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
