1. The curriculum contains no innovative courses.

2. The curriculum does not cover the curriculum as ascertained by the students during the interaction.

3. The proportion of staff core to the subject area provided for 55%.

4. 45% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D. degrees.

5. 40% of the non-academic staff have not benefitted from staff development programs in the last five years, whether conferences, seminars, or training.

6. Funding is inadequate.

 

1. The University should enrich the curriculum by adding at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The University should ensure general coverage of all the courses concerned.

3. The University should ensure that the proportion of academic staff core to the subject area provides for 75% or more of the teaching staff needs.

4. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain Ph.D. degrees.

5. The University should ensure that all the non-academic staff benefit from the staff development programs.

6. The University should ensure that the Programme is well-funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.30%. It scored 27 (81.82%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.29%) in Staffing, 27 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
