1. 62.5% of academic staff are PhD holders.

2. 89.5% of non-academic staff have not benefitted from staff development programme.
3. Laboratory preparation rooms are inadequate in space and furnishings.
4. Equipment like colorimeter, overhead projectors and models of human functional systems are not available.
5. The departmental surroundings are cluttered with litter, fallen leaves and overgrown grass.

 

1. The university should ensure that 100% of its academic staff are PhD holders.
2. The university should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from staff development programme.
3. Spacious laboratory preparation rooms with adequate furnishings should be provided for the programme.
4. All necessary equipment should be provided as specified in the BMAS.

5. The university should ensure that the department is clean and tidy.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.20%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 21.5 (79.63%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
