REMEDIES

1. Staff mix by rank of 17.6:23:58 does not conform with NUC BMAS/CCMAS.
2. Only two of the six non-teaching staff benefitted from staff development.
3. There are no computer system in the cataloguing laboratory.
4. There are no toilet facilities, modern file cabinets in some professors offices.

 

1. The university should ensure the staff mix by rank for the programme is in line with the NUC standard of 22:35:45.
2. All non-teaching staff should be encouraged to benefit from the staff development policy of the university.
3. The university should provide some computers in the cataloguing laboratory.
The university should ensure there are toilet facilities, modern file cabinets in all the professors offices.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.00%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
