REMEDIES

1. Some marking schemes only provide bulks marks to questions.
2. The ratio of 1:20 does not comply with NUC requirement.
3. One of Non-teaching staff have benefited from staff development, just 4%.
4. The physical library has only 3 copies and there were no local journals.

 

1. The University should disaggregate the marks allocated.
2. The University should ensure they employ more staff to meet the NUC requirement. Mostly Senior, and Lecturer 1 below.
3. The University should ensure all the Non-teaching staff of the programme benefit from staff development.
4. The University should acquired more books and also journals for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.60%. It scored 34 (91.89%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
