REMEDIES

1. Only two (2) innovative courses were added in the curriculum
i. Biochemical Genetics and Molecular Biology
ii. Xenobiotics and Forensic Biochemistry

2. Internal Quality Assurance System does not exit in some departments and there was no evidence of meetings in the existing ones.

3. Only 57.4% of the academic staff benefitted from the Staff Development Programme.

4. Only 13.35% of the non-academic staff benefitted from the Staff Development Programme.

5. The Laboratories spaces are not adequate and equipments like Cryostal and Electro microscope are not available in the Laboratory.

6. There is no public address system in the thearters in the pre-clinicals. The white boards and projectors are not well maintained.

7. Toilet sanitation was poor as there was inadequate supply of water in the facilities.

8. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

9. Tracer system is not properly documented.

 

1. The Univrsity should ensure the inclusion of 4 or more additional/innovative courses in the curriculum.

2. The University should ensure that functional internal quality assurance exist in the departments.

3. The University should ensure that all the academic staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

4. The University should ensure that all the non academic staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

5. The The University should provide adequate Laboratory space and equipments for the programme.

6. The University should ensure that the white boards, projectors and public address system are adequate and well maintained.

7. The University should ensure adequate water supply and good sanitation for the toilet facilities.

8. University should provide adequate funding for the programme.

9. The University should ensure proper documentation of tracer system.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.60%. It scored 34 (91.89%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
