REMEDIES

1. marking scheme exist but they are in block marking.

2. only 6 out of the 16 academic staff benefitted from staff development programme.

3. some of the classrooms do not have functional projector and public address system.

4. the professorial and senior staff offices are adequate in number but inadequate in terms of space.

5. the environment was fairly clean and have few fire extinguishers and sand bucket.

 

1. university was advised to allot marks to each step for purpose of clarity and to avoid block marking.

2. the university was advised to encourage the staff to attend staff development programmes within the school by organising workshops and seminars, as well as attending local and international conferences.

3. there is the need for the classroom to be equipped with functional projector and public address system.

4. the university was advised to allocate a more befitting offices to professors and senior lecturer.

5. there is a need to provide more fire extinguishers and sand buckets as well as ensure that the environment is kept clean.

 

The total score for the programme is 83%. It scored 33.2 (90%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80%) in Staffing, 23 (85%) in Physical Facilities, 14.8 (82%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33%) in Funding, 1.8 (60%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
