1. standard of test and evaluation are of good quality but do not cover the curriculum and question were not structured properly.

2. marking scheme exist though they were mostly block marking.

3. only 5 out of 16 academic staff benefitted from staff development programme.

4. classroom dedicated to the programme were adequate in number but they were not adequately furnished.

5. offices are adequate and number and well equipped but are not adequate in terms of space.

 

1. the university quality assurance unit was advised to do a proper check on questions and ensure they are well structured.

2. university was advised to ensure that marks allotted to questions are broken down to each step.

3. the university was advised to organise workshops and seminars for staff as well as sponsor them for development programmes.

4. the university was advised to equip the classrooms with functional projector, smart board and public address system.

5. the university was advised to allocate a more befitting offices to professors and senior lecturer.

 

The total score for the programme is 84%. It scored 33.8 (91%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (83%) in Staffing, 23.2 (86%) in Physical Facilities, 14.6 (81%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33%) in Funding, 1.8 (60%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
