1. The proportion of academic staff core to the subject area is inadequate
2.No staff of the programme benefited from staff development
3. The programme had no dedicated or shared laboratory
4. Research and collaboration is not multidisciplinary
5. Some courses have reduced credit load and some were omitted

 

1. The University should employ lecturers core to Mathematics Education
2.. There should be a robost staff development scheme
3. The University should have a lab for the programme for effective pedagogical skills
4. The University should ensure a robust multi-disciplinary research and collaborations
5. The University should ensure that the curriculum aligns with the CCMAS/ BMAS

 

The total score for the programme is 69.42%. It scored 31 (93.94%)  in Academic Matters, 16 (45.71%) in Staffing, 16 (59.26%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
