1. Practicals conducted did not adequately cover the curriculum. White Blood Cell (WBC), Packed Cell Volume (PVC) and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) are not conducted 2. Examination questions are mostly of poor standard and do not adequately cover the curriculum. 3. The Head of Medical Laboratory Department is on Sabbatical appointment and not a full time staff of the University. 4. There is no qualified full-time Laboratory Technologist or Laboratory Scientist in the laboratories. 5. 44.6% of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme. 6. Counting Chamber, Nebuliser, Magnifying Lens, Protein-Meter Standards are not available in the laboratory. 7. Academic Staff offices are inadequate in space. 8. Funding is inadequate.

1. The University should ensure that all required practicals specifieDd are conducted. 2. The University should ensure proper moderation of examination questions. Examination questions should also cover the scope of the curriculum. 3. The University should ensure that the programme is headed by a full time staff of the University. 4. The University should employ full-time Laboratory technologist and Laboratory scientist for the programme. 5. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from staff development programme. 6. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided in the laboratory. 7. Standard (Spacious) offices should be provided for academic staff in the programme. 8. The Programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 87.39%. It scored 29 (87.88%) in Academic Matters, 30 (85.71%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
